Double Page Spread
Double Page Spread
This is my Double Page Spread I used a beige background to mirror the 80s style and put the 'SYNTH&SONs' logo on the headline. The 'SYNTH&SONs' logo mirrors the computer screens of old 80s PCs.
Contents Page
Contents Page
This is my contents page it also had a colour scheme of black white and pale green to suit that of the front cover.
Front Cover
Front Page
This is my front cover, i made it black white and pale green to attract an older clientele, filling a gap in the market whereby people aged 25-40 cannot buy magazines to suit their musical tastes.

Manipulate image to suit.
Add Background for Masthead and Puff.
Add bar code, price box and banner to bottom.
Cut background from original image and place layer over manipulated image, this results in the models appearing in colour and your background appearing in the manipulated monotone colour.
Add information to the Banner, less important articles and Quiz's etc.
Place Masthead writing, Pug Writing (competition), date and Issue number on the backgrounds previously created.
Add another Puff leading to main Splash, Add main splash relating to background image. And that is the final product.
Mock Shots
On this post are the original images taken for my magazine. This is before I have manipulated them on Photoshop and I intend to explain where and how I am going to use these images within my magazine.
This image I have chosen to use on my Front Page, I believe that it has a good background and would be relatively simple to successfully manipulate.
I have chosen not to use this image, I intended for it to look like they were playing the instruments however it wasn't taken properly and instead I don't believe it was suitable for my magazine.
This image I have chosen to use on my Contents Page as the main image, I believe that with manipulation it could look professional and would create a focal point for the whole page.
Mood Board
This is my mood board, on this are the types of band that my magazine will focus on. I addition they are some of my personal favorite bands.I believe that 80s style music doesn't get the coverage it deserves considering how well like it still is. Therefore i believe that a magazine such as mine will successfully fill this gap in the market.
